Geräusche sind eines der Hauptelemente unserer Umgebung. «Fragments of Sound» ist eine Installation, die mit der Geräuschkulisse interagiert. Die Integration des akustischen Kontexts in ein Stadtmobiliar ermöglicht neue Erfahrungen und Interaktionen zwischen dem Publikum und der Stadt.
Der Mensch nimmt 75% der Informationen über die Augen wahr. Ein grosser Teil von technischen Entwicklungen und Innovationen berücksichtigt die optischen Komponenten. Das Gehör wird vernachlässigt – Klang, Geräusch und Akustik werden oft ausgeblendet: Schritte im Park, Blätter im Wind, Geräusche von Fahrrädern, Vogelgezwitscher, Gesprächsfetzen, Hundegebell, lachende Kinder, Motorengeräusche, das Rauschen vom Bach, unsere Umwelt besteht aus vielen Geräuschen. Diese nehmen wir jedoch oftmals kaum wahr.
Die Manipulation des Klangs verändert die Wahrnehmung der Umgebung . Die Intervention von Toru Wada reagiert auf den urbanen Kontext und durchbricht die alltägliche Routine: Wir entdecken eine neue Realität.

Sounds are one of the main elements of our environment. "Fragments of Sound" is an installation that interacts with the soundscape. The integration of the acoustic context into urban furniture enables new experiences and interactions between the audience and the city.
Humans receive 75% of sensory input through their eyes. A large proportion of technical developments and innovations take optical components into account. Hearing is neglected - sound, noise and acoustics are often suppressed: Steps in the park, leaves in the wind, sounds of bicycles, birds twittering, scraps of conversation, dogs barking, laughing children, engine noises, the noise of the stream, our environment consists of many noises. However, we often hardly notice them.
The manipulation of sound changes the perception of our surroundings. Toru Wada's intervention reacts to the urban context and breaks through everyday routine: we discover a new reality.
