Reise durch einen interaktiven Datendschungel auf Basis von HTML-Tags einer benutzerdefinierten Website. Die Informationen auf der Website werden abstrahiert und schweben als manipulierbare Datenobjekte in einem dreidimensionalen Webkosmos.
«Metaformose» spiegelt das Internet als Meta-Ort wieder und lädt, basierend auf den Informationen unterschiedlicher Webseiten, zu einer virtuellen Reise durch einen interaktiven Datendschungel ein. Das gewohnte flache Erscheinungsbild von Webseiten und ihr eingeschriebener Code werden durchbrochen und die Daten zu schwebenden Objekten in einem dreidimensionalen Webkosmos arrangiert. Dieses Meta-Browsing stellt Webdaten in einen neuen Kontext und ermöglicht es gleichzeitig, Datenfragmente neu anzuordnen und neue Bedeutungen zu erstellen.
Die ausgewählten und neu arrangierten Datenfragmente aus der Meta-Browsing-Session können im Anschluss wieder ins Internet hochgeladen werden. «Metaformose» ist ein laufendes Forschungsprojekt über die Strukturen von Websites und Netzwerktopologien aus technischer, ästhetischer und philosophischer Sicht.
Metaformose entstand im Rahmen einer Masterarbeit in der Fachrichtung Game Design an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.

Travel through an interactive data jungle based on HTML tags of a user-defined website. The information on the website is abstracted and floats as manipulable data objects in a three-dimensional web cosmos.
"Metaformose" reflects the internet as a meta-location and invites you, based on the information of different websites, to a virtual journey through an interactive data jungle. The familiar flat appearance of web pages and their inscribed code are broken up and the data arranged into floating objects in a three-dimensional web cosmos. This meta-browsing places web data in a new context while allowing data fragments to be rearranged and new meanings to be created.
The selected and newly arranged data fragments from the Meta-Browsing session can then be uploaded back to the Internet. "Metaformose" is an ongoing research project on the structures of websites and network topologies from a technical, aesthetic and philosophical point of view.
Metaformose was developed as part of a master thesis in Game Design at the Zurich University of the Arts.
